The Legion of Mary

The Legion of Mary is the largest apostolic organization of lay people in the Catholic Church located in almost every country of the world founded by Frank Duff in Ireland on September 7, 1921. The LOM has been approved by 6 Popes, and was endorsed by the Second Vatican Council. The main purpose of the Legion is to give glory to God through the sanctification of its members. Members become instruments of the Holy Spirit, in union with Mary, through a balanced program of prayer and service. Works currently performed are visitation/prayer programs, assisting at a monthly Mass at a nursing home, distribution of prayer pamphlets & sacramentals, and religious education. Members meet once a week for a 1 1/2 hour meeting of prayer, planning and discussion in a family setting and are given an assigned work done in pairs. Come as a guest to any meeting held each Wednesday at 6:45 pm in the Rectory basement. Contact info: Sharon Schepise (215-482-8129) or Frank Klusek (215-482-3020).
